2003 Softball

We were both SRC and North Zone Champions for our B Boys. Arguably, this team (C Division 2000/2001; B Division 2002/2003) was the best team we had both measured by their achievements and team unity. It was not the work of brawn or sheer muscle, but sheer 'brains' and spirit.

2002 - B Division Zone Champions

In 2002, we emerged for the first time as B Division Zone Champions. Our C Division team scrapped out a third place in an expanding North Zone softball circuit.

2001 North Zone Champions

Our Montfort Softball Team 2001 finally emerged North Zone Champions behind the laughter of our first baseman and quirky antics of our C division pitcher. The long wait was over. We were sixth place in the national tournaments.

Softball Montfort 2000

This was arguably the best year we had. For the past 3 years, we had played in the B Division Under 17 tournament. Most of our boys were under-aged and only 13 or 14 years old.

In 2000, we had our first real success. We were SRC Champions and North Zone Runners-s-Up for the C Boys finals. Rigorously drilled and trained in the old school of hard-knocks on the wild deserts of Montfort fields since they were 12 years old, the effort and determination paid off.

Montfort Team 1999

Montfort Team 1999 were the hitless wonders for the year. Batting only .230 but with crafty and pinpoint pitching and timely bench hitting, we scrapped out two wins for the season. We were called the White Sox of 1906.

We witnessed the graduation of our first batch of Montfortian softball players.

The C Team Under-14s was was at their best in 2000, scrapping out Second Place in the North Zone Softball Championships.

New Beginning : Montfort Ragtag Team 1997

This was the year it all began. The team began out of a classroom activity designed to build class unity and harmony. Form teacher, Mr Lloyd Yeo scrummaged out old wooden softball bats, PVC gloves and worn-out gloves last used in the 1960s to from a CCA which had a zero budget. The rag-tag team of Montfort scrappers donned their PE T-Shirts or simply came after school to form the new Softball Montfort team of 1997.
